A spacious 3.5 BHK located on the thirty-eight floor of a prime high-rise residential tower in suburban Mumbai with generous decks and balconies offering panoramic views of the city’s skyline and the far off horizon, came to us with its own set of execution challenges too. The work began with various civil, electrical and plumbing related modifications to adapt the existing layout to the new program. The existing servant’s room and store room were merged with the first bedroom to enhance the space which led to relocating and removing several walls and entries of the rooms and the bathrooms. The existing floor and wall finishes and the original service infrastructure was seamlessly merged with the new requirements within the new space.

The overall design strives to match the client’s brief of a simple, minimalistic interior with zero fuss or frills and subtle finishes. A generous use of the circular and semi-circular forms on the wall paneling, vaults and coves in the false-ceiling, furniture and the light fittings create a visual impact that bind the large heighted expansive spaces. The selective use of sober colors as highlighters and indirect lighting enhance the walls and furniture fixtures.
